Below is a simple explanation of what the standards include to give you a bit more of an understanding:

ISO 9001 – Quality management

The Standard is built upon eight fundamental principles of quality management, embedded into its various requirements.

• Involve people at all levels
• Take a process approach
• Adopt a systems approach to management.
• Continually improve
• Make decisions based on facts
• Aim for relationships with suppliers that are of mutual benefit.

ISO 14001 – Environmental issues

ISO 14001 specifies the requirements of an environmental management system (EMS) for small to large organizations. An EMS is a systemic approach to handling environmental issues within an organization. The ISO 14001 standard is based on the Plan-Check-Do-Review-Improve cycle.

OHSAS 45001 – Health and safety

The OHSAS 45001 standard (may also be mistakenly referred to as ISO 45001) is internationally accepted as a method of assessing and auditing occupational health and safety management systems. Developed by leading trade and international standards bodies, it provides a framework for organisations to instigate proper and effective management of health & safety in the workplace.
